Main area of activity of organization: | Development of scientific bases for synthesizing of additives of various functional actions, improving the operational properties of lubricating oils, fuels and special fluids; technology of their preparation and elucidation of new sources of raw materials related to their production, conduction of fundamental researches on the rational utilization of the existing resources. |

Main scientific achievements made over the last five years: |
Synthesis of various new additives possessing high antioxidative, anticorrosive, detergent-dispersing, antiscuffing, antiwear, viscous and other properties and preventing also biodamage has been carried out. An action mechanism of some synthesized additives, the relationship between their composition structure and functional properties were studied. New multifunctional additives for motor oils: AKI-146, AKI-147, AKI-156, AKI-157, AKI-209, AKI-219, AKI-150S, AKI-150m and exceed in certain degree the foreign analogs. Some of them were prepared without stage of sulfonation of raw material and it has a great ecologically meaning. With the use of Baku base oils and recommended additives were created a number of the new motor oils of groups "B2" and "Г2", various transmission, hydraulic and conservation oils and some cutting fluids were created and commercialized. The results of investigations mode over last five years have shown in 44 patents of Azerbaijan , 247 scientific articles, 139 thesises of reports and 11 monographs. In 2009 the director of the Institute V.M.Farzaliyev was also given by the Trade union of mass media the homorary title of “Influential Intelligent 2009” Director of CKБ “Asqar F. m. lisadov was awarded by the title of ionized Engineer ” a fnumber of collaborators of the Institute were awarded by diplomas of the Presidium of ANAS for contribution to the development of chemical science. The scientific adivety of the Institute is recognized by authoritative International organizations. In 2009 academician V.M.Farzaliyev was awarded by the title of laureate with presenting of medal “academician n.m. Emmanuel commemorative medal established by International charitable “Fund” Scientific partnership”, Russian academy of sciences and moscov university, he was awarded by Diploma for contribution to science and practice of the usage of antioxidants, Caencil of experts of EBA made a decision to submit the Institute of Chemistry of addiatives named after a.m. Kuliyev az a nominee receive the highest award of the European Busyness" assembly (“Best Enterprises”, (reg. № 2401351) with presenting of the head of Institute by certificate “Best top-manager of the year and include the Institute to the European Register oynamically developing enterprises. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 the Institute was awarded by "Gold Category", "Platinum Category" and "Diamond Category". By International organization in 2011 Institute was again awarded by "Diamond Category". |

Brief information on the organization's history: |
Institute of Chemistry of Additives of
the ANAS was established in 1965 based on the laboratory of lubricant
additives, headed by academician A.M.Guliyev, at the Institute of
Petrochemical Processes of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. For production additives developed at
the Institute of Chemistry of Additives in Sumgayit was organized profiled
plant of additives. At present there are produced additives. The first smoke suppressant additive ИПХ-706 markedly decrease smoke emitted from diesel engines and their toxicity. This additive was the first in the former USSR and have been recommended for commercial production. For the last years by collective of the Institute were created the new effective motor oils of group "B" ana "Г" answering the contemporary requirements and they commercialized in НПЗ "Азернефтйаг". Based on fundamental researches a variety of new organic compounds have been synthesized and investigated as additives. The relationship between composition, structure and functional properties of various classes of organic compounds and an action mechanism have been studied. For the last years by collective of the Institute were created and organized production of new moto oils of group "B" and "Г" answering all contemporary requirements in organization "Azerbaycan Neft Emali". In the field of fundamental researches it is necessary to note the work on synthesis of new organic compounds and study of them as additives, establishment of relationship between composition, structure and functional action. The researches on mechanism of action of some additives were conducted. |
